Daniel Heinz - Artist Biography
Daniel Heinz – artist biography
I, Daniel Heinz (*2001 in Leipzig), am a contemporary artist specializing in dynamic and expressive animal motifs. My works combine realism with expressive, abstract accents, creating a unique balance between structure and spontaneity.
I was introduced to art at an early age through my mother's porcelain painting. My fascination with color, light, and movement was further deepened by Ivan Aivazovsky's work "The Ninth Wave" —a pivotal moment that had a lasting impact on my perception of art. Nevertheless, my path initially led me into traditional craftsmanship: In 2019, I completed my training as a glass and porcelain painter at the Vocational School for Glass and Jewelry in Kaufbeuren. During this time, I created " Heimat ," a glass painting that is now on display in the Diocese of Augsburg.
My artistic approach
My working method is intuitive and experimental. I apply paint with brushes, palette knives, and spray techniques, working with multiple layers and combining precise details with expressive, free-form textures. My colors are powerful and harmonious—they emphasize the dynamism and presence of my subjects. Inspired by artists such as Voka, Shishkin, and Monet, I have developed a style that combines realism with expressive contrasts.
My main works & projects
One of my most well-known works, Cosmic Genius (2020), a colorful portrait of Albert Einstein, is currently on display in a hotel lobby. My work has been presented nationally and internationally, including at:
- 2025: Unknown Vibes Art Fair , Dragon City Nobotel, Seoul
- 2024: Language of Coexistence , Haegeumgang Theme Museum, South Korea
- 2023: Life is Art , Haegeumgang Theme Museum, South Korea
- 2019: My first solo exhibition Realism , Kaufbeuren
- 2019: Desire of Deception , Glass and Jewelry School, Kaufbeuren, Germany
- 2018: Homeland , Glass and Jewelry School, Kaufbeuren, Germany
- 2010: Aquarius , Theatre, Kaufbeuren, Germany
My artistic vision
The animal world is at the heart of my artistic work. Through my works, I aim to visualize the characteristics and presence of animals and translate them into a contemporary artistic language. Each animal I paint represents its own story—a story I tell through my work, inviting the viewer to engage with nature.
Current & future projects
I'm currently working on a new series exploring the boundaries between structure and freedom. I'm experimenting with new techniques and materials to achieve even more intense effects. My next exhibition will be in Geoje, South Korea, and I look forward to sharing my art with an international audience.
