Exhibition at Haegeumgang Theme Museum, Geoje Art Festival 2023, South Korea
The Haegeumgang Theme Museum in South Korea is far more than just a place for art. Nestled against the stunning landscape of the Haegeumgang cliffs and the blue sea, the museum offers a unique setting where art, nature, and culture merge. It's a place that inspires artists from all over the world and provides a stage for works that tell stories and evoke emotions.
Salvador Dalí: The Essence of a Master
My painting of Salvador Dalí (75 x 58 cm, acrylic painting with brush and knife) depicts the artist in bold colors and expressive shadows. His penetrating gaze, which captivates the viewer, is the focus of the work. With every brushstroke, I sought to capture Dalí's eccentric, visionary, and profound personality.
But the painting has its own story. I had originally prepared another portrait of Salvador Dalí for the exhibition, but it was lost on its way to the museum. This setback challenged me to create a new work—a second homage that would express Dalí's unique character and my admiration for his life's work even more intensely.
Gratitude for support
A project like this would not have been possible without the support of some special people. My special thanks go to the jury of the Haegeumgang Theme Museum, and especially to Chris Bleicher, who invited me and supported me in every way. Their appreciation and trust gave me the opportunity to present my art in such a prestigious museum.
